| My set top box Digital Tuner is acting up. It has been shutting off on it's own. When it does the TV comes on loud, off the station, and loud noise. Annoying when awake, but disturbing and waking when asleep. Tried to lower the volume on the TV remote, but the volume wasn't working, so took it apart to Try to fix it, maybe the contacts wre dirty. Tried one with little help, and again, and really studied what the problem might be. Looks like I fixed it, or at least it is better. Had some kind of stuff on the contacts I had to scrape off with my fingernail, not to damage the circuit traces. Think the tuner is breaking down internally, but will look at the remote first. Maybe something similar is happening to it. I have another tuner, but will be difficult to swap them, and I'd rather fix the old one. Don't think it's a yr old yet, and the problem isn't often.
Better try to get out. Want to get more Klondike Bars, or reg ice cream.

| back did't hold up. Siting a while it just stiffened up. Didn't stop me from food shopping but made it hard. Went with ice cream sandwiches instead of Klondikes.
Chatted with 2 friends at 2 diff locations, so guess I did pretty good.

| think I sorta reinjured my hip I injured mo's ago in a fall, but it is more back than hip. Think I did it lifting the milk crate with 4-3ltr bottles, I had to reach for so I didn't step in spilled oil. Guess I could have covered the oil, to not have to reach as far. Next time I'll have to. Had too much to do after doing a lot, and was tired so wasn't thinking well, and had a Lot of messy stuff in a small space, and never did anything like it before, and the strong smell wasn't helping. | |

| hip/back is feeling better, but going to treat it like the previous injury, supporting the thigh when leading with it, to try to take any strain off that side.
Think it's getting to Sleepy Time.

| made it out for my Sunday night run to the diner to lisyen to some Doo Wop music, and then into town to see if anything interesting was happening. Feel pretty good, and my back feels fine, but that can change as soon as I do something Normal. Feeling pretty strong and normal
Thinking of more things to wrap in Saran wrap. The jugs of gear oil I filled are ones, in case they leak, since Many things have, and that would be a mess. If they do I can hopefully catch them before they got through the Saran wrap. I forgot I had a new roll and picked up a 2nd, and they are BIG.
Think I'll have a cheese steak and I Cream sandwich or 2. Had 3 last night before putting them away. They're small.

| Back pain sure went away fast. Not going to push it for a while, since it probably is sensitive, but it was looking like it was going to be days of pains. I can feel a tiny bit of tightness if I lean far to one side, so there is something still going on.
Digital tuner shut off and woke me when the TV came on loud off station. Yesterday a window opened saying I had 25 sec to hit any key or it would shut off, like a sleep timer or something. Have to see what that was. It seems to shut off randomly, not a set amt of time.

| Still could get there, but supposed to hit the high 90's the next 2, and mid 90's the rest of the week, and only high 80's at 1PM. Humidity is low, so not that bad out. Want to get working on the car and outside, but better wait till I feel my back is healed, before making arrangements to go to sis's to use her garage. | |

| Subject: trans oil Mon Aug 30, 2010 1:27 pm | |
| eager to find out if the new trans oil will do what I am hoping it will, make the trans shift the way I want it to. Most people say is will, but have to see. Some say it made no difference, and trying to figure the difference. Could be some already had it in them, which could be possible, since the high performance models are said to come with it in, but can't get definite info on that. That could explain the difference. I'll find out once I get it changed. | |

| looks like i'm gona Have to get working on the house. Think someone complained, maybe about the roof over the yard coming apart. It made the yard a Big dog house, but I'm in tornado alley, the way the winds hit the back of the house, bouncing off the house behind mine, that has knocked down 2 cinderblock yard walls of the house behind mine, against mine, it ripped up the roof, and not having dogs now, it wasn't a priority but is coming apart. I was trying to get a tarp on it, to try to make it not look as bad, but not an easy task, and was going to roll the tarp at sis's in her yard. That is the only way I can figure to get it on it. to be able to Unroll it onto the roof. | |

| Subject: Avoiding Stress Tue Aug 31, 2010 10:32 am | |
| can go work on the car at Sis's tomorrow, but not eager with temps in the high 90's predicted. Didn't reach that yesterday, and have to see about today, and the next day. Sat is only supposed to be 80, which would be a LOT better. Heat when doing a stressful job, physically and mentally would be compounded by high heat. Then have to see if the hurricane causes any complications, since it is supposed to at least pass by. I don't avoid stressfull things, but too many may be best to avoid. Problem is, thinking not doing can also cause stress, and accomplishing relieves it, but how much is worth it. Is there a rush?? If I improve the transmissions functioning that will be great, and glad I did it. If not I'll have to think I Might be preserving it, like when changing motor oil. I'm eager to find out, but don't want to over stress.

| Slept and want to do something. Today did hit 97' and maybe 95 the next 2, then 88, then 80. Humidity is low which would help, but do I work and stress in the heat, or wait to change the oil? I waited 7 mo. The bridge passes that were supposed to expire today have been extended indefinitely, so donce have the bridge toll to get to sis's in NJ to work on it. Will be working in a garage so not in the sun, but it will still be hot. Rather not have anything extra stressing me while working on the newer car, doing something I never did before on it. Just making sure I bring all the tools, and gear I will need will be stressing.. Like when transferring the gear oil from the 5 gal can to jugs. It was an ordeal, and now I have to get rid of trash from it, and decide whether to clean the pail or throw it away? My nature is to clean and save it. | |

| and worked up a sweat. Wrapped the oil jugs with saran wrap in case they leak, so I can see it before it leaks out, and thought, I should have filled as few as I could, Not measuring out the amts I will need for each oil change, in separate jugs. There are 2 amts I would need, depending if I just change the trans/axle, or it and rear axle The trans/axle has more sensitive parts.
Different when doing something for the first time, or more than once, learning the best way, when there is a question or possible option. The gal and larger jugs seem to hold a good bit more than 4 & 5 qts, and I will need 3.7 and 4.5qts. Having to keep it for years, and wanting to have as little air as possible in it to limit oxidation it gets complicated. Couldn't have any water in them so hard to fill with water to measure how much the jugs hold, since they are hard to dry, and I get doing things just before needed.

| 11 am and already 90, going to 97 good day to sleep
Still havent solved the oil storage dilema leave the jugs with measured amounts or fill large ones to the top with smaller ones to hold the excess doesn't help that I think the 5 gal can had 6 gal in it that shouldnt be but I measured what went into the jugs maybe not perfectly since the plastic measuring container flexed a bit from the weight of the oil as i held it but don't think a gal worth messy job and dont want more mess guess ill find out what is what soon first time is always educational
time for breakfast according to my stomach

| Probably did. Called sis and made arrangements to go Sat, when it will be in the 70's. That should be easy to work in, and not make mistakes.
Thought about going to the diner and shopping, but talked on the phone too long, and it is still hot and humid out, and I'm hungry.

| getting low on cola in My Mind, with 1 1/2 -3 ltr bottles left. I usually stock up with 8 max, and try not to get below 4, so I don't have to try to go get some when I'm not up to it. I like being stocked up like with smokes. I drink a store brand which I change when They change it, and I go looking for another I like, so can't just go by the name brands, anywhere. I keep the bottles in 2, stacked milk crates, and right now the empty 5 gal can of gear oil is in one, and the 6 gal jugs are on the floor in the entry area corridor near it, so would be real complicated bringing in 8 bottles, and storing them. I can't completely open the front door with stuff in the way, and have too squeeze out it, and stopping the car in front of the house to unload and store the bottles, could tie up cars that want to get up the narrow street if any come, so complicated. Would have to move things inside to make storing easier, but then getting out will be hard. I've thought about how to do it, to make things easy, and moving the 5 gal pail to the basement, but have funnels in it I will need to change the oil in the car I want to take out while upstairs, and don't want to handle them and get oily just yet. Can't stand anything coating my hands, especially when handling other things, so will have to wash them right after, so extra steps, and that can be stressful Until I am Up for doing it, and my mind and body don't always work together, and I have to wait Till they do.
I also have to put the new registration stickers on the tags of both cars before driving them, and I have clear covers on the tags, so have to remove them to do it, and it is going up to 95 today, and already starting to get warm.

| would have been good if I would have gotten out and installed the registration stickers on the tags when it was a bit cooler, but fell back to sleep now I want to but it is hotter and the sun is high. Should have done it when the stickers came in last week, but that is easier said than done. SO many things have to line up for me. | |
