| Think I should buy the tools I don't have. Then I won't be limited in what I can do, and spend time debating whether to buy a tool. I'll be able to Just use It... Have to rearrange the basement and tools I have to make room, and space to use them. That will be work, and I have enough to do, But it keeps me thinking, and planning.
Was looking for a house to move to. Not my ideal, but that would be too hard to manage in my condition, But one I saw that looked interesting close by, didn't have a garage I could use as a shop, and a good situation to keep hounds, so not too good. Really should have a place with them I could build around.

| made it to the diner and worked on ideas to make the hound wall hanging. The head and tail would be better if they can be added to the body. the seam where the head could be joined or hinged could be covered with a colar, and the tail that is long, thin, and tapered, with a curl, could be steamed and bent from a solid wood dowel of the wood of the body, that veneer on plywood would be best.

| Have to find a good pic of an Afghan hound to get all the details right. They should have a long, straight neck and front, and a slightly curved Roman nose. Too long or short, or too curved or straight won't look good. Their long body hair, but short haired face and saddle might be hard to show in flat wood veneer. Maybe the grain, or running the wood a different way will work. The woodworkers site does some interesting things with veneer. I have seen pics of the hounds standing, trotting, and running, that would be interesting to reproduce. Each look very different the way the long hair moves. The fact the hounds can be any color, or mix of colors might make for duplicating in wood, easier. but it has to look right. The pieces of veneer are from 4-18" wide, that are book matched, that can make 8-36" widematched patterns, and 12' long, so going to be hard to look at to see what would fit, and on shelves against the wall, behind lots of stuff, so a project just to look at. | |

| watching woodworking shows on PBS making queen anne, Chippendale, and a roll top desk pieces. Over my head, but interesting. I liked to hand veneer, and the base wasn't as critical, since I could do tricks with the veneer. Seeing the different tools I am not that familiar with, that I have been looking into being used is interesting.
Still thinking of the Afghan Hound wall panels, Have to get some pics to copy. Finding some, but want to find ones I have seen and didn't save. Watching vids of them romping and running, there are many shots I'd like to reproduce, but that would be hard to do in wood, even just flat panels. Should concentrate on them standing still, and then see if I can move to their hair and body moving. Things go every which way when they do. Thinking of te Greyhound logo on the buses.
