| Finally found the cordless battery charger for my cordless drill. Was looking for a jacket, and it was sitting befind where I hang them, on a box, so hidden. Gona have to write hiding places I pick, when trying to make room, A new battery I bought doesn't work too good. Tried to charge it, and the charger shows it as fully charged. Trying to charge my old one, after I whacked it, which is said to rejuvenate them. Hope it does.
Been getting ready to take an old TV, PC, and 2 tires to where they recycle them. The TV is upstairs and Heavy. I knew it was, but gona be rough getting it down the stairs, and all the stuff in the car. Waiting to see if the old battery charges up. Maybe return the new one, if it isn't past the time. I think it has a weak cell after testing them.

| And It Worked... Smacked the batteries the way they say, and it charged up and works like new.
Don't think I'm going recycling today. Only an hr before they close. Shoot for tomorrow, now that I have most things set up. Still 2 more to get ..well 3 including bringing down the TV.

| Finally got to take recycles to the drop off point. It was Grueling, and I fell asleep once today, and woke 2 hrs before closing. I had PC parts, a TV and 2 tiws, that filled the car. It was on the way to the Harbor Freight tool stoor, so took returns, planning to go there. Everyhing I brought to recycle was big and heavy. The girl staffing the site was on the phone arguing or just talking loud, and distracted me. I headed home instead, forgetting about harbor Freight till I got near home, and annoyed. It was during rush hr, but I headed back, and made the returns, but spent the money on other things. I was near a friends house, so headed there, He always has a lot of dogs, si I get a dog fix. He was down to 3, but had 4, the new one being his daughters he is watching. They are great, friendly dogs, and big, and won't let you in easily, and have to pet them. On the way in there was an older pickup in the driveway I had never seen. My friend said he is going to start picking up old appliances, like Fred Sanford. I hadn't seen the fridge and other things in the back, which were his. I said, Great, because I have 3 old refrigerators to get rid of, 2 old window, AC,a, and an old water heater, I was trying to figure how to get rid of, and was going to call someone. The truck isn't regeristered yet, so have to wait, but he will take the things. I don't ask what he does. I know he was on welfare yrs ago, and had to save his house, after his wife died, leaving him with 5 kids. 3 were hers, and 2 were theirs. She had pancriatic cancer, and he was distraught when she was sick and died, and wrecked a co truck for 12K $, and lost his job then.. I helped him out some, since he had helped me some when I got injured, and other times over the yrs. Now his bro who may have been helping him broke his arm, and will be out of work for a while. They always have bad luck.

| Needed a new USB cable for my GPS. Fried the one that plugs into the PC to charge it up. Bought one at the $ store, for 1$, but the plug that plugs into the GPS was a micro USB, and too small. Took some doing, but looks like it takes a mini B connector. Went to Radio Shack with the burned end, and the guy had no idea, and tried to sell me the wrong one, for 25$. Think they had one for 22$, but not being sure, since there are SO Many, decided to wait and check. Asked a porter in the diner, they said, knows PC's and games, but he didn't know. The mgr came over an said, what's the big deal. Try one at RS, jurt to find out. There are 4 pin and 5 pin ones that look the same, and the pins are SO small, I needed a magnifying glass to count them. Pretty sure I found on on Ebay for .99 and Free shipping. How cheap do they make things in China?? The site said they had 2500 for sale... Think the cable for my digital still camera will work, but NO telling where the camera is. Probably put it someplace to make room, like my cordless drill, and will find it someday, by accident. | |

| been busy getting things done. Not what I was doing before, so changed focus. I haven't really tested the cordless drill, to see how good the battery got. Been so long since I used it, not really sure if I did make it better. Planned to use it, so didn't want to drain the battery completely. Have some light drilling to do, so want to wait and see. Solved the cable situation for the GPS, so that is done. Been trying to set up the HD car radio tuner, to have it work with my old car radio, that I bought it for. The radio was almost inoperative for a week, nt able to tune in ant ch's, whick would happen a day or two, but then work, so couldn't tune in a ch for the tuner to play through. Tried to clean the controls from outside the radio, which is iffy. Tried to get it working when I would go out, but not spend that much time, and then have to figure how to work the tuner, often when driving, which isn't easy. Have to run the antenna through the tuner, and trying to do it by cutting into the antenna wire, and have ends that work, but have to be spliced in. Tried to but was missing one. Found another that I need, and have to install it. It's a tricky situation, since the tuner has good and bad reviews, and have to see it it will be acceptable. First time I tried it with an iffy antenna connection, it wasn't acceptable, but wasn't sure if the antenna was the cause. Have to find out, because I might like to add one to the new car, but have to be sure it is acceptable. Since some bad reviews, and the unit being discontinued, I am leery, so want to test it in the old car first, but they are getting hard to get, so want to get another, or even two, one for the house, if they work out good for me. One seller sells the tuner on Amazon for $10.25, and $0.01 for the cables to connect it, but because it is 2 items, it is $8 & $6 for shipping the two. Originally it sold for $149.95 The tuner and setup parts were sold as a combination in a box, which is what I bought, or a separate tuner, and separate wires and parts to connect it. Trying to get out and work on it now, but it is cold and windy. | |

| A frustrating bad day, looks like it turned out pretty good. Waited for the FexEx guy to deliver a package, and they never showed. I waited tikk 2, and decided to get working on my electrical problems before the sun went down, nd I would need a flashlight, or more often. Shame because I could have changed the oil in the cars. It rained in the morning, and that stopped me, and then I slept. Guess I wasn't really up to doing it. Wanted the package, and try to figure out the electric. Been shuting it off when I go out or sleep because a connection was arcing, and looked dangerous. I bought 2 fire extinguishers, because you better not put water on an electrical fire. Should have them anyway just in case.
Called FedEx, and told them I didn't appreciate waiting for nothing, and told them I would pick up the package, till they old me the locations they could send it. The close ones were in center city, and probably hard to park, though they should have a lot like UPS does.
Tried running extension cords from other rooms that I could get to work, and not have the arcing in the basement, but when I tried running things I got the arcing. Don't know that much about house electric. I have a few boks and got them out but it is a bit like Greek. Tried to understand the theory, and found some things I had to try. Turns out, the connection that was arcing was made wrong. No telling how long it was arcing, because the metal is melting. Glad there was no fire. I was starting to think I was over my head, and going to ask for help. I friend when young is an electrician, and remembered him. Hadn't seen him in years, probably since wiring my sisters house.
Tried the idea, tightening the loose connection, and it seems to be working good. Gona buy a new connector to replace the melted one that sits on an angle. not flat like it should. Goin to shut the power when sleeping like I have been doing just in case, and till it works for a few days with no problem. I was Really getting tired of having to shut it, and use a flashlight. Bad enough having to step over and around things with light. Have to Really be careful around electric, especially the mains.

| so far the electric is working good, but still wary, and have to reconnect some wired I disconnected, to try to stop the arcing, and not sure if I will remember where they go. Good thing is I am learning what is what. That;s interesting, but only tells me how to solve the problem now. It will help learning little by little. | |
