The Greyhound rescue place has a string of the starting boxes they have at the tracks, on the lawn, that they put the dogs in at the start of a race, to show what they are used to. Like the starting gates for horses at a track, though these are boxes they put the dogs in, and the boxes are numbered... Kinda strange, because they tend to be against them racing, because it makes them available to be adopted, I guess if they are slow or get too old, but many are young, so probably didn't perform as wanted. Seeing some of them walked that have High energy. They usually get put in runs there.

i planned to have an Afghan, Greyhound, and a Saluki. They are similar breeds, and all related, so figured a rep of each breed would be interesting. Didn't know that much about Greyhounds, so going to a rescue place, I started to learn. Reading up on them, I kept running into Saluki's, and they got interesting. Asked where to get one on an Afghan Yahoo list, and was put in contact by a Saluki breeder, who has 2 she wants to find a home for, One is gorgeous, and the other pretty nice. I just wanted one, and am offered 2. I asked how much, and no reply. They usually go for 1500, and some 2500$. I think they just want to find a good home for them. The breeder is in Ohio, 400mi away, but will be close by, about 90 mi next mo, and asked if they should bring them... What to do....
