| it doesn't pay to make friends with the disabled, or have friends who get that way, but I guess that is something we have in common and creates a bond, but some have been friends before becoming disabled, and the problems made us closer.
I have lost a few over the years and may be loosing another who is having heart problems. He was disabled after back surgery that went bad when a morphine pump they put in him wasn't programed, and the whole pump full was released into his system, which is why we met on a disabilities BB. He had a heart attack after being on Celebrex, which was a bad choice by him, but he was trying to treat back and neck pains. Now he needs a defibrillator. Supposed to get it Tuesday, but has been in bad shape for a week, and I wonder if it will solve his problems, or if he will make it? He can only write but every few days now, and it is getting almost incoherent.

| my friend is having a pacemaker installed today. He really sounded bad the last few times he wrote, and almost incoherent in his typing, Every word had a bunch of extra letters. Because of his brain damage there are usually a few or he writes Phone net ick lilly. He said he wrote to a preacher he grew up with to pray for him. He had him send and say a prayer for the wine he made recently, to bless it, and about that time his heart kicked out, so I question the benefit. he is all for drugs and medical procedures, and all his problems have come from them. The surgery to put rods in his back, and a heart attack after being on Celebrex. He thought my knee pains would need surgery like his did twice. He thought the rectal bleeding I got after increasing fiber 25 yrs ago meant I had cancer, and I should be tested, not understanding that it stopped when I went back to my normal diet. He doesn't think he will live very long, and tells me I probably won't either, because of our injuries. He is pretty religious, but worries about dieing. I can never understand that. He claims he isn't really religious, but wants to cover himself by believing, like insurance.)) | |

| no word from my friend who was having a pacemaker put in Wed, and should have been home yesterday. Maybe he is out of it, and not up to writing.
I've been sifting through info about what to use to perform maintance on my new car, to keep the warranty valid. Lots of conflicting info about what to use to replace fluids, and what kind of shelf life they have to decided whether to buy 1 gal of factory transmission oil at twice the price/qt for a qt than 5 gal would cost. I thought about letting a dealer do some things that I want to make sure were done by them since there could be complications, and don't want them to be able to say that I messed the thing up, but with the trans oil, half the dealers never heard of the factory oil I want to use, that is supposed to work better than what Came in the cars. Wonder what the factory used, and what the dealers will, who never heard of the one that is supposed to work better? Really starting to think I better make sure I get what I want, and make sure it is put in by doing it myself, and just make sure I do it right. I've had problems over the years I had to force dealers to do right, or had to do them myself, like a noisy transmission the dealers said they all made the noise, and wouldn't check the fluid level, and find out it only had 1/3 the oil it was supposed to, and filled it myself. Would have lost the trans if I didn't.
This car has a situation where the front axle and the transmission share the same oil , and the recommended oil protects the steel gears, but will corrode some brass parts in the trans. Some say, only if the oil gets real hot, and other say just contacting them. Copper or silver is used to test for the acids that can form and cause the corrosion, so going to get the dip stick plated with copper, and half with silver to be an indicator of acid corrosion. Silver being a faster indicator. Acid formation is also something that can happen in motor oil as it ages, so going to get those dipsticks plated also for both cars.

| heard from my friend. They put in the pacemaker but there is a problem. He wasn't up to explaining, and with one arm taped to his side, but said there is a problem with the Vagus Nerve. I know it comes from the base of the brain and runs around the esophagus and to every organ, and if irritated it can make it feel like there is a problem with an organ OR Cause one. I wonder if putting the pace maker in that damaged it, and giving him symptoms OR a problem.
Looks like I reinjured my abdomal area, from the back to the front, related to jamming my hip a few mo ago, that was healed up after restraining it. I wasn't wearing a back support since I had no pain, but think I moved something, a heavy crate on the floor I slifd over, and may have reinjured some of the area. Not the hip but other parts that were injured then. Peeing is weak and not as much as I think it should be. With the initial strain I had blockage in my colon that probably came from strained muscles there. Put a back support on to try to ease or heal the area, and trying to be careful or support the parts, like my thigh that aggravated it the last time when i stepped over or up things.
Trying to get all the car stuff figured out and ready to do before winter, though they really don't have to be done before March, but I think I better let the dealer change the brake fluid. In my searching about how to do it wit ABS brakes, that you need to get into the computer to open valves, and read that 2 guys couldn't finish the job, and may have had to be towed to the dealer. The thread stopped in March, and trying to find out what the results were. Supposed to be able to jump wires and makes things work to bleed the air from the system, but that sounds complicated to do. One if the guys tried it and connected the wrong wires and blew a fuse. I already had one scare messing up the computer, and the car wouldn't go above idle 2 blocks from the house, and every light on the dash was flashing, and I was headed to the dealer far away, to get some defective parts replaced. I though I had killed it and it was going to cost me a lot. Luckily I found out what happened, and solved it easily, but I was sweating, and figuring it would have to be towed, since you have to be a rocket scientist to work on the new cars, and have the diagnostic eqpt, unless you know how to get around them.

| Experience teaches. If you don't do anything, afraid to, you don't get experience, and live in fear. Making the same mistake twice is dumb. | |
