| went to the car to look in the trunk for the headlights, and not there. Getting frustrated because I want to change them all.
Had to fix the clamp on a articulating desk lamp that the clamp moved. It's a laying, twisting reach where the phones are, and didn't move them a lot, no room, so laid on one.. Maybe that strained my side. Thought I reinjured my back, but it's on my side, and higher up, but may be related. Going to apply heat, and take supps.

| still searching for the headlights.
Found ways to get the radio to change stations, by pushing multi buttons and controls.. It's like breaking into a safe.

| My friends daughter called him when we went to get something to eat at the diner. She had left her lights on where she works close by, and the battery went dead. We went to jump start it, and while it was charging up I noticed a small lump in one front tire. Not good, especially at high speeds, it could blow out and be a disaster, so I guess the dead battery was a blessing in disguise. | |

| using a cig lighter I installed in my new car, if I worked the mirrors while it was in, the fuse blew. The fuse was the same size lighters usually have, and usually other things are on the circuit. Didn't want to put in a bigger fuse, to make sure there couldn't be a problem, which I doubt there would be, and found circuit breakers that replace the fuse, and bought one. They had manual and auto resetting ones and bought the auto one, and then thought the manual one would be safer, but should be OK. Rarely do I adjust the mirrors when the lighter is in, or that often. | |

| waiting for an HD radio tuner to come in for the old car, whose radio freezes on a station about every other day. It gets annoying when the station is playing songs that are really bad. I mean, can't think of anyone enjoying them. Might need adapters for the antenna cable, in and out of the tuner. Won't be sure till I take the dash apart. A friend gave me a radio that fits, but if the antenna doesn't need adapters for the tuner, the radio might. The radio might not work because of a theft lock when it is taken out, and could cost 50-75$ to get a dealer to unlock it. They make things SO complicated for no reason. The diff in the antenna plugs is about 1mm. No one knows why they had to make it diff than the std.
I have an antenna cable, and had to splice the cable to the antenna on the car, so might be able to rig things up.

| HD radio tuner came in for my old car. I went to the park to work on it. tried to connect the antenna to the tuner, and then to the radio. Tried to disconnect it from the radio, but couldn't get to the radio to putthe tuner in between. Took the glove compartment out, and part of the dash. Thought it might be easier, but wasn't lucky. I was able to connect it in between the antenna cable that I has spliced, when I replaced the antenna.
Had to figure out all the connections to the tuner, and how to work it, but couldn't get the HD features to work, that tells you the name of the artist and songs. I bought the tuner because the radio locks on stations about every other day, sothe tuner solves that problem, since the radio just has to be set on an off station to work through it. I wanted the artist and song feather, since that would help find out who and what is playing, when trying to find out. Maybe the rigged up antenna is the problem, but don't think so.
I was pretty wiped out after, and I was sitting the whole time. I could hardly move after, and ate and crashed when I got home, and slept about double what I usually do.
Woke and the baseball game was still on, and went 18 innings, so had something interesting to listen to, and the 2nd basemen came in to pitch the last inning, because they ran out, and got the win.

| want to try the HD radio tuner again, and drive around with it on, and see if that tunes in the HD stations. Shouldn't matter, but have to try. Want to charge up my GPS, and see where to mount both in the newer car. Now can get them or they come in the new cars, but usually costs a few K$ each. | |

| Hummm.. post didn't post..
Went to the park to play around with the GPS and new HD radio tuner. Got the tuner to work the way it should when I drove around, so the location was the problem, and a bit of learning how it works. Checked the coolant that was low again, and when I checked the oil, got a shock, since there was coolant in it. Hoped I would make it home, and now have to try to fix the internal leak, along with the external one. Got to Pep Boys before they closed early for the holiday, though was exhausted from working on the tuner and GPS, but wanted to get a stop leak. One a friend used and the clerk recomended cost 60$, didn't have that much on me, and wanted to try sometyhing cheaper, so got one for 8. Some good reports on the nest, but the type, has to have no antifreeze in the system to work, which is going to be work and a challenge. Have to change the oil that is contaminated with coolant, and it is really hot out and will be for a few. Going to have to juggle things, and really rather just rest. Last week when I tried and connected the tuner, took me a few days to fully recover, and I was just sitting in the car comfortably with my legs outside the door.

| tried to get working, but fell short. Took B1 & 2, and all I did was get changed, and get materials together. Can't find one important item, and wonder where it is? At least I got most things together, in preparation, so on my way. | |

| with water getting into the oil, I need to change it. Planning on using what I drain from the other car, since may have to do it a few times. Need to try to fix the leak, but till I do, I shouldn't use the car, but could use it to swap the cars, to save the space, and shouldn't get much water if any in the motor that way. Trying to fix the leak first would be best, but more complicated | |

| gona get some Vit D, if I get out working. Rather not, but just may. Wanted to start early, but after the trash was collected, to not be distracted, but slept through it. the sun saps my limited strength, and makes seeing difficult between bright sun and dark shade with the changes the eyes have to make. I want to hurry, but won't beat the sun, and don't need the pressure. Tomorrow would be cooler, and may just wait, but probably not, even though will be hotter today.
Found the item I couldn't, so can't use that as an excuse. Might be able to use deciding which oil to use.

| t working yet, but getting info on the net that will be helpful. Have to simplify things, and do the job right, or could do more damage. The process is complicated, and debating when to change the oil, before or after. Read where one guy had to change it 3X before he got all the water out. Hate to waste good oil, so will use what I take out of the newer car, but that should still be good. I have odd bottles of oil that has been sitting, that I could use. Should have enough, but want to use the worst ones for the worst time, or something like that.
This would be childs play before I was injured, but now it is stress and struggle, but still want to do it Not many would do it for you. It could be expensive if it doesn't work.

| looking for more materials and parts, and not having as much luck as needed. Can't believe I used soem, and have to have others, I Think. Did some digging in the basement, and my back started to tighten, so taking a break. Wanted to get working yesterday, this AM, and evening, but not happening. Maybe tomorrow? The weather is nice, and hope I don't regret not getting started. | |

| working on how to get the water out of the Chevy motor, and how to plug the leak. Get the contaminated oil out, while plugging the leak. Complicated because have to run the motor to plug the leak, and would get water into the fresh oil. Tricky... | |

| slept a bit, woke, and surprise, got right out working. Tried to test the thermostat, and doesn't look like it works. Got ready to drain the cooling system, and it started to sprinkle. Needed more tools, so came inside. May go back out, but not sure. | |

| HEY!!! Finally started working on the car... Drained the antifreeze, and took out the thermostat to test it, since I don't think it works. Would like to change the oils in both cars but better wait till tomorrow, so I don't do myself in. Sun is starting to set, so seeing will be harder., and it started to sprinkle a bit, but stopped. Might be T storms tomorrow...but only a slight chance. Maybe like the rain today.
Have things I want to do inside, so will do them. Would like to use the Subaru, but don't want to run the Chevy till I get some good oil in it, and don't want to loose the spot.

| no real work today, just more prepping. Interesting how different ideas come up the more thought Was that is given. Talking to sis, was telling her how the repairs are getting less and less accurate. Think I'm going to run it without a thermostat. Like have Saran wrap covering an axle joint because I couldn't get the easier to install rubber boot. They just had the harder one in the size, maybe, because they gave me 2 of the others that were the wrong size.
Had to get rid of oil soaked newspaper and plastic bags that I have had sitting for a Long time, maybe up to 2 yrs. They are a fire hazard if enclosed, so emptied a metal 5 gal pail I was storing things in, and squeezed them into the. Put on the lid and secured it, so should be safe. Found 4 used oil filters in them I can use to flush the oil, and save the new ones till the end, so getting some things done.

| starting to get moving. good thing I Used to enjoy this stuff, and why I get involved. SO mant steps, and materials to get together and carry out. When my back starts to tighten, I justr want to sit and Think about what to do. What to do in what order is tricky. Just changing the burned out end table bulb was tricky, and a challenge, having to lay and reach across to the lamp, and work with one hand, and the bulb was a flourscent, in a 3 way socket, and couldn't remember or could figure which position was off, and then Try not to drop it. I had to stop and try again, then get the new ones in, and the socket was hard to work. I thought about lubing it, but that would mean more gymnastics. Had to rest after.
If I fill the car radiator first, I'll probably spill water, and have to lay under the car to change the oil. Should change the oil first, but that is more difficult. Should pull the spark plugs to see if any have gotten wet. Supposed to leave them out when doing the stop leak. 3 in the front are easy, except for the force needed to take them out, but the rear ones are hard, and laying on the motor makes them easier, so hope I see a problem on the fronts. Need a special socket to take them out, and might as well put in the new ones I have had for years. Making sure I don't mix up the wires would help. The old oil with water in it is going to be a larger amt than just the oil. The drain container won't hold it all, so will have to get it started, stop, and empty the container. Gona have a Lot of jugs with water and oil. Should try to minimize and reuse some. Put water from ones in the radiator, and put the oil with water in them. Have to flush the cooling system, so will have to use more jugs of water, and can't mix some of them. That may determine the sequence.
Couldn't find a church key can opener, to open a can of crankcase flush, but have an old can of oil I'm going to use, and can use the penetrating spout to puncture the can. Should be better than piercing it with a screwdriver, banging on the handle, and making a mess, or a bigger one.
Getting tired thinking. Might have to sleep, like I wanted to fall back after waking. Think I'm getting closer to starting, getting all the pieces and ideas together.

| Better get working or going to really regret it when it gets Real hot, and I don' t want to use either car. Haven't in a week, and have to try to find out what all is wring, and try to fix it. Figuring it out is complicated, and fixing it can be tricky, and I'm not who I used to be. Just SO many things to do, do right, and in a sequence, that is Very complicated... | |
