| ALMOST ABLE TO RATTLE WINDOWS AND ANNOY PEOPLE WITH THE CHANGES. MR LOL
Getting pretty close to what I am after. Now I don't think about needing to improve it as much. Making the steering wheel rougher for a better grip, has also made steering better in tight places. Now the amount of pressure to make sure the wheel doesn't slip in my hand is less, and I don't have to be as careful, and can just grip and turn it, and be more precise..
The transmission seems to be shifting smoother, and after the next oil change, getting all the old stuff out, and what they say a coating the other oils put on the gears wears off, it should be just right. All things are livable now, and better would even be better, near perfect. Anything that takes extra thought or effort, even if the effort is trying to hold something back that is too easy, is a distraction and fatiguing. When things are Right, it is a joy, or as they say, Fun to Drive. That was popping in my mind tonite, how much Fun it was to drive it.
The Chevy hasn't stalled in a while. Have to check the choke, which may be closing after it starts and runs a bit.
Think I need a cheese steak. Finished 6 Boston Cream donuts in 2 sittings.

| enjoying reading the trials and tribs of the owners of a British sports car I was thinking of buying, that was made from 74' tp 04'. If I had a garage, maybe. Affordable ones being older, they do need repairs, and they are unique. Reading about what they need is almost like owning one, without the cost or the hassles, and they Can get expensive. They say, much cheaper than comparable cars, but I like Real cheap. Being rare, like most things I like, makes everything harder, and more expensive, but their nature makes them worth the effort. Just have too much to deal with as it is. | |

| the Subaru stereo still needs some work, but getting there.
Finding out things about the gear oils for the trans. Sulfur in the oils turns to sulfuric acid at 250*, and people say, the oil doesn't get that hot. Between the gear teeth, the temp can get to 750*, and that should form acids in the oil there, and eventually make all the oil acid.

| slept a bit...
have to get working on the rim, But have to check it is the Same as is on the car. Pretty sure it is, but with the one in the yard being different, maybe it isn't, and cleaning it up will be a waste of time. I Think I know where it came from. Think it was on the car, and I found a tire I wanted ON a rim that fit the car, in Pep Boys lot, that someone discarded, because it had gouges on the sidewall. They were just superficial, so put it on the car, and been using it for 6 yrs. Pretty sure that is it.
Think I could sleep more, but Have to get working. Used to be easy...

| rain stopped and need to go get the tire mounted, but I'm feeling like getting horizontal.
Looked at the tire and it has dry rot. A Lot better than the one that I took off. Can't find the DOT code to see when it was made. Probably 10yrs ago.

| am concerne about the trail of water I Think has come from the Chevy. It isn't constant, and letting it sit and run nothing shows. Pretty cold out to stand and study it. I know there are 2 holes in the radiator, and stop leak sealed them. One for years, and neither were leaking. Thurs the weather will be a bit milder, so may wait till then to do a good check. | |

| should go check the Chevy leak, but TOO Cold, and Windy. Wind chill of 5.
Looking into changing the coolant in the Subaru. One expert says to change it every year. The newer plastic and aluminum cooling systems are said to be Real sensitive to acid formation. I bought the coolant from the dealer, so there can be No question about what was used, and there are many now. They are making things harder and harder, and not sure the dealer service can be trusted. Only thing is, they should be responsible for any problems, but Don't want problems to fix. Most dealers never heard of the transmission oil that Subaru sells. They just use anything they can get cheap, that conforms to the requirements. Doesn't mean it is the best to use, but covers them.

| not getting working on the old car. Would be nice to find the old carburator to try to fix the parts on itthat I'm pretty sure went bad on the one on the car. I'll find it some day.)) Well the car Does run, and the coolant leak is minor now. | |

| so far the tires I repaired are holding up. Saved a Lot of money doing them. Never feel repairs are 100%, but then neither is the new tire that failed. Roads are hazardous.
Ate and guess I'll try to get out... Probably drive the Subaru, though would be better to drive it in the storm, since that's what it is best at, but don't want to in the city for fear it will get banged up. The Chevy is good enough for that, and being FWD will get around pretty good..

| Learningabout the New Car Stuff, the computers , and electronics in them. I knew some things weren't connected mechanically, and are Drive By Wire, like the gas pedal isn't mechannically linked to the motor, but to a box, and then electrically connected to the motor, and computers send a signal, and a lot to understand about the computers, to figure out what is wrong when a problem. Not like the good old days, when you could see the mech linkage, that would have to break or be out of adjustment to malfunction. Now, the computer can, or be a bad connection sending the wrong signal, like was supposed to be why Toyota's were taking off and killing people
I wonder how many people had a transmission rebuilt for 2K$, when it was just a 20$ sensor, that made the trans act up? Hear stories, a few mo later, the trans went again.

| Know what insurance on the other car I am interested in will add, and now I better go check one out, to make sure I will fit and like them, before I go any further. Parking is getting worse around here, with more loading zones and the like. The city needs money, so got strict on where you park, and not giving a break if not following the laws explicitly.
I didn't go out tonite, because I was too tired and slept, and couldn't have if I wanted to before the diner closed. I'll be up overnite, as usual, so wouldn't have been hard to move the cars before they would have to be for street cleaning in the AM. I didn't feel deprived, because I was out during the day, and went to the diner, and saw lots of friendlies while there. I like to get out at least once a day. More than once can feel like a strain, though doing a lot today really did me in.
